Issue 97 of Revista Actualidad de Empresas Aragonesas has published an interview with the Country Manager of MingTa, Fernando Cimorra.
Who is Fernando Cimorra?
He is a young entrepreneur from Aragon, 38 years old, who in February 2014, after an intense professional experience in several companies in the Aragonese private sector, decided to bet on his own project, MingTa. With academic training in business administration and management, computing and international trade, I consider myself a person in constant evolution with principles, tenacious, perfectionist, demanding, and with one great confessable vice: workaholic.
Did you know from the start as a student that you wanted to study International Trade, or was there an evolution?
There was a clear evolution since my beginnings had nothing to do with the international sector. It has always been a stirring topic for me since I am one of those who thinks that we live in a globalized world where the borders are set by ourselves. Outside our environment, outside our comfort zone, there is a world full of opportunities, challenges and, why not, a world of business. I have always had a concern for constant training and professional reskilling, and there was a moment in my life where I knew clearly that it was time to complete my training with a Master's in International Trade. Without a doubt, it was one of the best decisions I have made in my life since it not only complemented my training but also meant being able to launch my own project and take an important leap in my professional career.
What does MingTa mean to you?
It is the project that has occupied my present and shaped my future for three years. It is a project that would make no sense without my partner Daniel Torres Julián, founder and General Manager of MingTa.
MingTa is the clear example of a company of the future, an "outsourcing" company, since it is conceived to provide professional solutions to clients at origin in China at an infinitely lower cost than maintaining their own structure, and with a multidisciplinary team of professionals at their disposal, specialized in different areas. Global and specialized service with a fixed and affordable cost.
What is the added value of MingTa?
For me MingTa has three clear competitive advantages;
- The initial business idea that is still maintained: MingTa was born as an "outsourcing" services company specialized in promoting and facilitating commercial relations between Western companies and China, and vice versa.
- Being at the origin in China and having our own structure. MingTa currently has three operational offices internationally, two on the Asian continent and one in Europe, Spain. The offices in Asia are located at strategic points of the country that facilitate the daily operations of our clients. We have an office in Hong Kong since it is the financial and operations centre of China. Hong Kong in some way connects the Asian giant with the West. Our operations headquarters are in one of the most modern cities in Asia, Shenzhen, a clear example of the modernization and projection of this country abroad.
- The human team of professionals that make up MingTa. Young people with many interests, eager to learn, to grow, to live new experiences and to face new challenges. Highly qualified personnel specialized in different sectors. A multidisciplinary and fully international team since we are very fortunate to have in our team staff from different nationalities such as France, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Italy, Spain and China. Our average age does not exceed 32 years.
How did you feel when you learned that you had been awarded the 'Best Offshore Purchasing Company - China 2017'?
It was a moment of shock and at the same time of enormous joy, I could not believe it. To this day I still have not fully taken it in; I suppose that over time we will realize the great importance of this award. Not even in our best dreams could we think that we could obtain this international recognition, and even less so in such a short time, barely five years.
What is behind that award?
Work, effort, tenacity, service, structure, team, professionals, people.
The enormous effort of a multidisciplinary team of more than 15 professionals that make up MingTa Group internationally.
What is the next goal?
Our next goal is to have an operational office in Central America to finish consolidating the different business avenues we have been working on for a year and a half. The main goal is for MingTa to have its own offices in America, Europe and Asia and thus be able to offer a global service to our clients on the three continents.
What should a company that seeks to export to or import from China have?
Determination and commitment from management, a clear business plan that sets short, medium and long-term objectives, and financial capacity. Internationalization is not an easy task and we always recommend that it be done together with professionals specialized in the sector; this way it will not be an expense but will become an investment that will surely save you a lot of time and money.
How do you see MingTa in 10 years?
I see MingTa as a company with a structure on the three continents (America, Europe and Asia) providing service to its clients and championing that initial business idea of being an "outsourcing" services company specialized in promoting and facilitating commercial relations between Western companies and China and vice versa. We would like to be an international reference company in our sector.
