Do you need to control your production process in China? How can you guarantee your product is manufactured correctly and that your supplier respects the agreed specifications? Quality inspections are the answer. Below we explain the five most useful inspections when importing from China.
1. Initial Production Check (IPC)
Performed at the start of production. The inspector verifies raw materials, components and the first units off the line. It is the right time to detect deviations before the order is mass-produced.
2. During Production Inspection (DUPRO)
Carried out when production has reached between 20% and 60% of the total. It allows for sampling and confirms that the quality observed at the beginning is being maintained throughout the run.
3. Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)
The most common inspection. It is conducted when at least 80% of the order is finished and packaged. The inspector checks quantity, workmanship, function, packing and labeling against the contract.
4. Container Loading Check (CLC)
Supervises the loading of the container to confirm that the correct quantity of goods is shipped, that they are properly secured and that no damage occurs during the loading process.
5. Factory Audit
Evaluates the supplier's facilities, production capacity, quality systems and social compliance. It is recommended before starting a long-term relationship.
Each inspection covers a different stage of the process. Combining them allows you to control quality from beginning to end. At MingTa Group we coordinate all of them through our team in China. Contact us to plan the inspection plan for your next import.
