How to sell on Taobao as a foreigner
Find out how to sell on Taobao even if you need to have a company in China to do so.
Taobao could be defined as a mix between Amazon, eBay and Alibaba but oriented exclusively to the Chinese market. However, its size and importance is even greater, and in China it is used by all kinds of people to do their business and shopping.
It is so huge that it reaches the 14th position among the most visited sites in the world, and is the third most visited in China. We can say that Taobao is the real center of digital business in China.
The store is very complete. It includes products for retailers, end customers or even auctions. And not only that! They also sell services such as travel or insurance and intangible products such as ebooks.
Are your mouths watering and you want to enter this huge market? No wonder, but most of you probably can’t read or write Chinese.
And not only that, to sell on Taobao is necessary:

If we want to start selling on Taobao we will need at least two things:
a) Someone who can write your ads and place them on the web. He would also be in charge of answering questions from users. Obviously it can’t be just anyone, since he/she must know enough about the products and the seller (i.e. you) to be able to solve the doubts.
b) A company with experience in importing and exporting from China, in order to handle orders correctly. A mistake in this regard would generate distrust and it would be very difficult to sell again on Taobao (as it happens on Alibaba or eBay). It must be located in China or it will be impossible to operate Taobao.
