In this year 2015 the Chinese New Year will begin on February 19, moving from the Year of the Horse to the Year of the Goat. The national holidays run from February 18 to 24, although many factories and stores close much earlier and reopen much later.
It should be considered that the Chinese New Year is by far the most important holiday in China and would be comparable to combining Christmas and the summer vacations in many Western countries, so that in practice, the whole month of February is practically inoperative.
